Omni Pool Attendent Intern
Job Description:
- The pool attendant is responsible for meeting the needs of guests while they are at the pool. This includes bringing food and drinks to guests and making sure the pool area is clean of all trash.
Requirements:
- Shifts are between 12-14 hours and one break is given for 30 minutes only on slow days, if it is a busy day then you will not get a break. They will provide granola bars sometimes.
- You are in the sun 95% of the time and the temperatures range 95-104 F.
- Must bring own sunscreen, it is not provided
Benefits & Opportunities:
- $10.35/hr, plus cash tips that are split between everyone working
- Rotations were suppose to show interns other parts of the hotel, but each week the departments were uninformed that interns were coming. This lead to departments being very unprepared and not having anything for the interns. Very unorganized.
- There is a LID (leader in development) program that can be applied for and it is a year long and then the applicant will become a manager after that year.
Acheivments:
- I have learned how to diffuse certain situations that included guests
- I have learned to manage over people that aren't sure what to do in situations
- I have learned even more patience than I had before
- I have learned the certain organization a company should and should not have
